Gerber Scientific Appoints Steve Gore As President of Gerber Innovations

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT ­ Gerber Scientific Inc., a worldwide leader in integrated automation solutions, has announced the appointment of Steven Gore as President, Gerber Innovations, effective November 1, 2008.

Gore will report to Gerber Scientific Products president Stephen Lovass and succeed David Buckley in this role. As president and a major shareholder of Data Technology (DT) since 2000, Buckley helped transform the DT business over eight years through an aggressive upgrade of products and services. Having completed the sale and subsequent integration of the business into Gerber Innovations, Buckley has decided to pursue new opportunities.

Since Gerber’s acquisition of Data Technology in May 2007, Gore has been Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Gerber Innovations. He joined Data Technology in February of 1997 with responsibility for sales and marketing, and was a shareholder and member of its board of directors prior to the company being purchased by Gerber Scientific, Inc.

Gore has previously held a variety of senior positions including national sales manager for Misomex North America, a leading manufacturer of equipment and software for the packaging and commercial printing industries. Gore was also a partner in a Boston-based software and consultant company that was purchased by Misomex in 1988 and spent six years with Rand Whitney Packaging Corporation.

“Supported by a strong management team, I am confident that Steve, with deep knowledge of the business will successfully lead Gerber Innovations as it continues to expand its product lines and customer services to meet the evolving demands of the industry,” says Lovass.

With the result of Gore’s appointment, Lovass adds that Mark Bibo will now lead the Gerber Innovations sales & marketing function. Bibo has over 10 years’ experience in the packaging industry, most recently with responsibility for sales of the Gerber Profile System in the packaging industry, and since June of this year the complete suite of Gerber Innovations products sold into the folding carton segment.
