ISA Opens 2009 Sign Design Competition
ALEXANDRIA, VA - The International Sign Association has issued a call for entries for its 2009 Sign Design Competition. The contest judges actual sign projects designed and installed in 2008. Winners will be recognized and winning submissions will be displayed at the ISA International Sign Expo 2009, to be held April 15-18, 2009, in Las Vegas.
"Signs are more than marketing tools - they are also art," said ISA President and CEO Lori Anderson. "This contest acknowledges the aesthetic appeal of well-designed signs and validates the efforts of the talented artists and designers working in our industry."
ISA's renowned contest will take into consideration both conceptual designs and finished products, selecting winners in three categories: commercial/electric, traditional/historic and architectural/sign systems/wayfinding.
To be eligible for consideration, signs should have been completed and installed in 2008 by a member of ISA. Entries must be received by Monday, January 19, 2009. Four prizes will be awarded as follows:
- Grand Prize Winner - $2,000, plus domestic round trip tickets and hotel accommodations for two to attend the Sign Design awards ceremony in Las Vegas
- First Place Commercial/Electric - $500
- First Place Traditional/Historic - $500
- First Place Architectural/Sign Systems/Wayfinding - $500
Winners will be notified in February 2009 and will receive a plaque and monetary award at the trade show.
"Since its inception, ISA's Sign Design contest has provided an exceptional opportunity to showcase the best of the best in our industry," said Anderson. "By judging signs that have been completed and installed, we ensure winning designs not only look great, but have met the test of customer acceptance."
