FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OAAA Names OOH Media Plan Awards Finalists

The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2008 Out of Home Media Plan Awards. Started in 2000, the Out of Home Media Plan Awards honor those campaigns which effectively marry creative strategies and the out of home medium in an innovative way.

“This year’s campaigns show the creativity and power of out of home media,” said OAAA Chief Marketing Officer Stephen Freitas. “It shows why smart advertisers are increasingly turning to out of home to get their messages across.”

This year’s 17 finalists used a wide variety of out of home formats. The strategic use of these formats allows advertisers to saturate a given market. The campaigns also demonstrate the increasingly important role of the latest technology (including digital billboards, Bluetooth downloads and directional audio) in reaching a broad audience.

From the finalists, one Local and one National Out of Home Media Plan Award Winner will be selected. The awards will be presented on Thursday, September 25, at the OAAA STAR Showcase at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City.
