SGIA '08 Speaker Les deHamer Talks About Going Lean - LeanSigma Chromatix Consultant shows how to teach staff lean process

Fairfax, Virginia -- Lean manufacturing expert Les deHamer, Nazdar Consulting Services, understands the lean manufacturing process can be confusing and even daunting to specialty imagers trying to implement it in their operation.

But specialty imagers can eliminate that fear and create a smooth integration by learning what lean manufacturing is -- and, more importantly, what it isn’t -- by attending deHamer's educational session, "Making Lean Work," at SGIA '08 (Atlanta; October 15-18, 2008). http://www.sgia.org/events/current_expo/sgia08/index_attend.cfm

"Take the time to minimize your staff's anxieties by doing some preparatory education, and you'll see the benefits before you hold you first [lean manufacturing] event," said deHamer, a LeanSigma Chromatix Consultant.

Often, a lean manufacturing program is "sprung" on a work force without any preparation, said deHamer, who will discuss the ins and outs of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and other manufacturing processes that he dubs "LeanSigma."

Attendees will learn about lean manufacturing, the process of eliminating waste and maximizing value-added time by using simple tools and methods to:

  • Collect data and analyze problems
  • Balance the workload among resources
  • Find and eliminate waste in processes that don't add any value to the product, or aren't what the customer wants
Learn more about deHamer's session and register for it at SGIA.org, Keyword: SGIA08.
