TheMagicTouch USA Introduces MagiCut Cut Materials

The latest innovation from TheMagicTouch USA is a cut above the rest: MagiCut, a wide range of cut materials used for applying colored text, logos and freeform designs onto dark garments, fabrics and promotional items. TheMagicTouch USA, a worldwide pioneer in the digital image transfer business since 1989, introduced its full line of MagiCut materials and compatible software at the Imprinted Sportswear Show in Long Beach January 18-20.

“MagiCut cut materials offer superb washability, durability and a soft hand feel, plus it has excellent properties for cutting and weeding,” said Greg Weeks, vice president of sales for TheMagicTouch USA. “Best of all, customers can order in small quantities with a minimum of one yard. This is ideal for small- to medium-sized runs of t-shirts, jerseys or other activewear, for example, in virtually any color or style.”

Weeks added that the ability to order a small quantity of MagiCut allows customers to easily and inexpensively produce samples, a possible profit center and marketing opportunity for many customers.

MagiCut is available in Flex, a high-quality cast polyurethane film with a matte reflection and a thermally activated adhesive, and is suitable for most fabrics. Flex comes in 23 colors, including metallics, neons and glitters, and is available in 15”- and 20”-wide rolls.

Also, customers can choose from 15 colors of MagiCut Flock, high-density fibers that offer a textured feel suited for lettering, numbers and logos for sports and leisurewear, available in 20”- and 40”-wide rolls. Finally, MagiCut Foils allow users add dimension to garments with holographic/metallic, pearl glitter and reflective cut materials. All foils are 19” wide. All MagiCut materials are suitable for use in most plotters/cutters (CAD devices).

MagiCut is compatible with the company’s proprietary MagiCut Software Version 5.0, a powerful and versatile computer graphics tool that allows users to convert or trace bitmapped images from sources such as scanners and digital cameras to high-quality outlines suitable for cutting. Additionally, black and white line art, grayscale images and color images can be converted.

“The MagiCut Software is extremely easy to use, yet it offers a powerful and sophisticated package of autotrace features, editing tools for changing traced images, and an interactive mode that lets users apply changes to other applications to save time and ensure consistency,” said Weeks.
