Avery Dennison Launches New Reflective Product
Painesville, OH - Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products Division has launched EG10TM (Engineer Grade 10), a special engineer grade reflective sheeting that will meet federal minimum reflectivity standards and can be used on stop, yield and speed limit signs. EG10TM reflective sheeting is the only engineer grade product manufactured in the United States with up to 10-year durability. “EG10TM reflective sheeting offers consistent reflectivity over a range of entrance angles and will meet the new federal minimum reflectivity standard,” said Kevin Brinker, Reflective Product Manager for Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products Division. “EG10TM reflective sheeting is an economical reflective product that is made in the U.S. to meet U.S. traffic signage requirements.”
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has developed a minimum reflectivity standard for traffic signs. The rulemaking is expected to be signed into law later this year. The federal standard will become effective for all 50 states and city, county, state and federal traffic signage will have to comply with the standards within 10 years. In addition, the federal standards for reflective traffic signs will be applicable to any facility that is open to public traffic such as shopping malls, university campuses, theme parks, office buildings and hospitals.
