ACD Unveils New Protean Technology Targeting Retail Co-op Marketing Programs
Minneapolis, MN — ACD, a leading developer and manufacturer of user-interactive, shopper-assisted technology, announced today the launching of its newest technology designed specifically as a turn-key solution for pallet and end cap promotions associated with retail co-op marketing programs. Protean™ is unlike any other Digital Sign solution available today. It allows unfettered, independent placement of multiple Digital Signs anywhere within a physical retail space. Protean™ is able to operate independently of any in-store LAN infrastructure or AC power availability — NO cables, wired or wireless network or even AC power. Content can be linear (loop video or graphics) and/or interactive via the integrated touch screen user-interface. Similar to a real estate “time-sharing” concept, Protean™ is designed to accommodate frequent and on-demand in-store promotional events shared by multiple departments.
According to ACD’s CEO Marco Scibora, “With Protean™ retailers finally have the means to achieve significant increases in co-op revenue free of the restraints associated with traditional digital signage.” “The time share model makes it so easy for retailers to implement Protean™ by sharing the associated costs across multiple departments”, says Steve Malmberg, ACD’s Director of Sales.
The main benefit of Protean™ is the “process” by which the retailer can easily control the placement of Digital Signs on the retail floor and manage the update process for the desired content on an as needed basis. ACD’s patented Remote Data Control Services (RDCS) is designed to remotely administer promotional content management, scheduling and other back-office services for one or multiple store chains with any number of store outlets per chain.
