Direct-to-Garment Digital Workshop Spurs New Possibilities...Program travels to Oklahoma City to increase accessibility

Fairfax, Virginia — Garment decorators interested in direct-to-garment digital imaging technologies need not look any further than SGIA’s upcoming Direct to Garment Digital Workshop (April 30May 1, 2007).

The program, to be held at The Paper Ranch in Oklahoma City, provides attendees with a complete overview on the latest technologies on the market, such as direct-to-garment inkjet, dye sublimation, heat-applied vinyl and inkjet transfer.

They’ll also get the latest on costs, markets, workflow issues and successful direct-to-garment business models from instructors Chris Bernat, SourceSubstrates/Vapor Apparel, and Mark Collins, Earthtone Graphics Inc.

“Direct-to-garment digital technology is all about getting the highest profit margin you can,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services. “We want to help garment decorators understand how their business profitability can increase by adding this technology.”

Plus, attendees will have more than a full-day of hands-on time with the available digital equipment that will be at The Paper Ranch. The open format will allow garment decorators to experience the technology at their own pace, ask questions, bring files to print and learn troubleshooting techniques.

“The goal is to get apparel decorators to a point where they can set up a digital workflow plan that minimizes any material waste or downtime,” Shell said.
