Let SGIA’s Workshop Increase Your Digital Confidence
Participants will get a comprehensive understanding on wide-format printing
Fairfax, Virginia — Start out on the right digital-imaging foot by attending the “Intro to Digital” (October 1213, 2006) workshop at SGIA’s Digital Lab.
The two-day program, led by SGIA Digital Imaging Specialist Jeff Burton, teaches attendees the fundamentals in digital workflows, technology such as print heads and ink systems, finishing options and media types.
“This course helps those who are brand new to the digital imaging world — whether they’re new hires at a digital operation or entrepreneurs looking to adopt digital technology — to understand what each technology is capable of producing,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President for Technical Services.
Previous workshop attendees said the course better prepared them to make confident, digital-imaging equipment decisions.
“I was pretty new to digital technology, so I learned quite a bit,” said Matthew Koger, Designer for SGIA member Albuquerque Sign Print (Albuquerque, New Mexico). “I definitely feel more comfortable around the digital machinery we have here as a result.”
Georgia Southern University Professor Hans Mortensen said the program validated his knowledge of the digital imaging industry while teaching him more about where the industry is headed.
“Even though I do a lot of research and reading, the workshop made me feel more confident of my knowledge of the industry,” said Mortensen, an SGIA member.
