ISA Names Laurie Kusek Director of Marketing and Communications
Alexandria, VA - Laurie J. Kusek, APR, has joined the International Sign Association (ISA) as director of Marketing and Communications. In her new role, Kusek will provide strategic guidance to expand ISA’s media relations and marketing activities to more effectively convey the association’s news and strategic industry information to members, prospective members, as well as the trade and business media.
A veteran association executive with more than 20 years experience, Kusek has led communications and outreach efforts for large trade industry groups representing the chemistry and plastics industries and the equipment leasing industry, among others. Most recently she oversaw communications for a 2,000+ staff international law firm.
“Laurie is a welcome addition to the ISA team as we embark on our new vision for the future,” said ISA President and CEO Lori Anderson. “She brings to the table a clear understanding of the workings of a trade association and an innate gift for seeing the big picture and developing an effective outreach strategy.”
“She is committed to finding new and effective ways to communicate our deep resources of strategic information and knowledge to our members and the industry at large,” said Anderson. “Laurie’s skill for delivering an effective message and quantifying the results will be pivotal as we work to position ISA as the leading source of sign industry related information.”
Accredited in Public Relations (APR) and a graduate of the University of Virginia, Kusek was formerly director of Communications and Customer Outreach for the Arlington, VA-based American Chemistry Council, and held senior management and communications positions with the American Plastics Council, the Equipment Leasing Association, the Society of the Plastics Industry’s Polystyrene Packaging Council and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
ISA is a 1,900 member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 foreign countries. ISA exists to support, promote, and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
