ISA And The Signage Foundation Announce Plans For Signage & Identity Symposium

Alexandria, VA - The International Sign Association (ISA) will cut the ribbon on its first Signage & Identity Symposium October 4-6, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nev. The event, a collaborative effort between ISA and The Signage Foundation, will focus on the theme “Signs on the Front Line,” providing information about the value signs bring to business signs as the front line of marketplace entry as well as the legal protections signs experience signs on the front line of battle against overly restrictive regulations.

Two distinct conference programs will be offered: one focused on hard-hitting information of interest to signage end users, and another aimed at lawyers and appraisers who must stay abreast of changes in the industry in order to receive accreditation.

Educational programs for signage users will take place Thursday, October 5 and are planned in two tracks Design/Operations and Legal. The sessions will cover a variety of topics, from co-branding and developing an effective RFP to natural disaster ramifications and specifications control and enforcement.

Four additional sessions offering continuing education credits for professionals in the legal and appraisal fields will be held on Friday, October 6. Topic areas include “The Sign Valuation Process and Damage Calculations,” “Time, Place and Manner Standards for Sign Regulation and Federal Compensation Requirements,” “Protections and Compensations for the Value of Signage Under Federal Law,” and “Designing Effective Signage and Protecting the Right to Use It.”

“We have put in place a conference program that will ensure that the Signage & Identity Symposium is the preeminent source for current signage research and information taught by industry experts,” said ISA President and CEO Lori Anderson. “The slated speakers are renowned academics and signage professionals who have a unique perspective of the issues and trends impacting our industry,” she said.
